2) his goals were to strengthen Athens, Strengthen the Empire, and to Glorify Athens. I would say the greatest impact was to glorify Athens. A lot of countries not only care about being strong and secure, but nowadays counties want to seem like the best and have the glory.

3) Pericles helps strengthen Athens by using direct democracy to increase the number of public officials that were paid high salaries.

4) Sparta's strategy was to control Athens on the land because their army was stronger, They marched into Athens, burning everything and taking control of everyone. The strategy of Athens was to win in the water.  As their navy was very strong and Sparta's wasn't as good, their plans was to beat them through the navy

Today in class we took a quiz-test on Greece. On the test there were topics of the geography of it to questions about the allegory of the cave to question about specific dates or broader time periods having got do with leaders and other people. In my opinion, the quiz-test was pretty hard which isn't good because my grade in this class isn't very good.

2/25/20

today in class we talked about Hippias. He was a tyrant and ruled very harshly. As he was ostracized out of Athens he became very angry. He went to the Persians and told them how to invade Athens. There was another case of this when there was two leaders running to rule and one of them didn't win, he was then ostracized and removed out of Athens.

2/19/20

Today in class we continued to take notes on Greece and different parts of Greece. We talked about Mycenae and the epics of homer. Since homer was during the dark ages we don't really know if he was a real person or just part of the whole big thing of telling stories. The epic of his we talked about was the odyssey which is about the god who is on an adventure and Poseidon keeps knocking him off his course. I do think homer was real because I think that there can be a person that great.

greece questions

1) Mycenaean- People who settled on the greek mainland around 2000 BC
Trojan War- During the late 1200's BC the Mycenean fought a ten year war against troy
Dorian- New group of people that moved into the war torn country side. dialect of greek.
Homer- greatest storyteller and he is blind
epic- narrative poems celebrating heroic deeds
myth- Traditional stories about their gods
2) In my opinion the minoan contributed to the greek culture the most because with the other two it only talks about them moving into greeve but it doesn't say they really contributed. The Minoans contributed the writing system, pottery designs, etc.
3) This geographical advantage that Greece had was effective in making them great sailors. As they were great sailors, they could travel vey easily instead of just walking or riding horses.
4) the Myceneans adopted the idea of seaborne trade from the Minoans as they were great sailors, now they could make a profit off of their great talent.
5) The epics told the stories og great and heroic deeds or acts. This was important because now the great things people did were written down and remembered so that generations that followed could know what the people did. it also sets an example on why and how people she act.

Today in class we went over our test. I got an okay grade. We then read an interesting story written by Socrates. It was about humans in shackles in a cave being taught and forced to learn. The teachers told them everything they wanted them to learn. One of the humans then escaped and went into the real world in the light. After he was in the real wold his eyes were ruined. He wanted to go back into the cave to save the other humans but he was killed because he was "ruined" after he went into the real world.

2/4/20

Today in class we had a pop quiz. I didn't do very well. I got a 5 out of 8 as I think I should've done better. I did take good notes and listened in class but I didn't have this class for four days so I forgot a lot of stuff. I think that If I took the same quiz on Friday then I would have gotten a 8 out of 8. Then we took notes on the PowerPoint for the rest of class.
